He gave up 5 hits, issued no walks and had 12 strikeouts. Scottsdale hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery. "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point," opposing manager Melvin Patterson said. "We just never figured him out."
