 | Phillips on Fire, Strikes out 15 Bronze Souls Sunday, September 2nd, 2029 Led by an outstanding performance from starter Mark Phillips, the Montgomery Grey Sox topped the Beaverton Bronze Souls today by a score of 8-1 at Rickwood Field. The 21-year-old Phillips brought his top game to the mound, striking out 15 batters while allowing 2 hits and giving up 1 walk. "He made a lot of good pitches out there," Bronze Souls manager Gustavo Alonzo said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes." So far in 38 appearances this season, Phillips has recorded 8 wins and sustained 8 losses.
