Big Day with Bat: Ayala 5-for-5
Wednesday, August 29th, 2029
The Scottsdale Scorpions stopped the Beaverton Bronze Souls by a score of 13-8 at Gentry Field today, with the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Tony Ayala. The 22-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Ayala said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Ayala did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Bronze Souls.

"Not much that I can say," offered Beaverton manager Gustavo Alonzo. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Tony Ayala doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 7th.

Ayala is swinging at a .288 pace on the year with 28 home runs, 88 RBIs and 98 runs scored. He has played in 119 games.
