The Athens first baseman massacred Kingfish pitching, cracking out three home runs and going 4-for-4 with 5 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. But this sensational performance didn't really matter. Kenosha won the ballgame 10-8 despite the three homers. "I wish a big 'W' had come with this," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but the bottom line is whether you win or lose." Nonetheless, Woods will now have a place in the league record book. "I guess when you're hot, you're hot," he said. "I'm not going up there trying to hit home runs. I put the good part of the bat on it and luckily three of them went out today." Roy Woods singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Alberto Sánchez in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Ray McKnight in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Ángel Casillas in the 9th.
