| Phillips Blanks Dirty Snow Friday, August 17th, 2029 In an outstanding mound performance, Montgomery Grey Sox starter Mark Phillips fired a complete-game shutout against the Detroit Dirty Snow at Augusta-Richmond County Grounds today.
Phillips was the key to the Grey Sox's 10-0 win. The 21-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 2 hits and 1 walk he allowed.
"2 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout."
Phillips has made 16 starts so far this year and put up a 7-7 won-lost record with a 4.16 ERA. In 125.1 innings he has allowed 122 hits, walked 47 and struck out 136.
