| The MWL (24 & Under)'s Best Player: Miguel Meneces Thursday, October 18th, 2029 He's only 23 years old, but Miguel Meneces of the Grim Reapers has clearly established himself as a star of Midwest League.
His status grew today as the ace pitcher was named the winner of the 2029 Midwest League Outstanding Hitter Award.
"I just want to pitch well and win games," he said. "The awards are nice though."
Meneces's award-winning season saw him put up a 15-7 record through 29 starts, throwing 183.2 innings. He had 276 strikeouts with 63 walks and a 2.30 ERA. Opponents hit only .196 against him during the season.
Lúcio Gómez of the Barry's Bay Orioles finished second in voting, while Edmund Swanson of the Plumstead Eagles finished third. | |
