| 5-Hit Game for James Friday, August 10th, 2029 Beaumont Roughnecks second baseman John James had a day to remember at Palancar Gardens today, ripping apart the Key West Barracudas and sparking the Roughnecks to a 6-5 victory.
James wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-8.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," James told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
John James tripled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th, singled in the 11th, singled in the 13th and hit an RBI double in the 15th.
To date James has chalked up a .209 average with 8 home runs, driven in 37 runs and scored 70 times.
