 | San Diego's Martínez to Miss Season Saturday, July 14th, 2029 Guillermo Martínez of the Smashers just might have to call it quits for the season. The 27-year-old San Diego reliever received a possible season-ending injury against the Menlo Maniacs recently at Menlo Park. Martínez suffered a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch. The Smashers medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 8-9 months. To this point in the season, Martínez has rung up no saves in no relief appearances. He has also crafted a 5.97 ERA, no wins and 4 losses and 20 strikeouts in 37.2 innings. |   |
