| Stevens Tags Hammertime for 5 Hits Sunday, September 2nd, 2029 Mile High Broncos first baseman Tom Stevens had a day to remember at TooLegit today, ripping apart the Houston Hammertime and sparking the Broncos to a 27-12 victory.
Stevens wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Stevens told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it."
Tom Stevens struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, was hit by a pitch in the 6th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th, walked in the 10th, hit an RBI single in the 11th and hit a two-run triple in the 11th.
This season Stevens is batting .279 with 3 home runs.
