 | Elazar Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Monday, August 13th, 2029 No matter what the Santa Monica Bruins threw at him today, Ron Elazar hit it. He easily handled Bruins pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Hammertime to a 12-5 triumph at Jackie Robinson Stadium. "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Elazar's quip, Bruins skipper Mike Fox said he "would take him up on that next time." Ron Elazar singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Carlos Ruíz in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. This season Elazar is swinging the bat at a .300 pace. He has hit 13 home runs and scored 80 times, while driving in 73. His on-base percentage is .423 and he has played in 108 games.
