 | Hounds Vásquez Smacks 5 Hits Sunday, September 9th, 2029 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Juan Vásquez today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at County Stadium and paced the Hounds to a 31-3 win over the Amarillo Archdukes. After his dynamite batting performance, the Indiana center fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 7 tries and put his name in the record book. Juan Vásquez tripled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run triple in the 6th and doubled in the 7th. So far this season Vásquez has gotten 11 hits in 36 at-bats for a .306 batting average with no home runs. His stats include 4 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has played in 8 games.
