At the age of 24, the New Orleans third baseman has been named the winner of the National League MVP Award.
He had a .370 batting average and a .406 on-base percentage this year. In 157 games he piled up 257 hits, 37 doubles, 12 triples, 16 home runs, 85 RBIs and 133 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
Earl Wiggins of the So Cal Bruins finished second in voting, while Barrett Waters of the Kenilworth Aces finished third. | |
