 | Baffin Island Win Divisional Round Tuesday, October 16th, 2029 Baffin Island first baseman Alonso Ferreira couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the Divisional Round. "It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to Ferreira moments after his club eliminated the Irvine Gang Green to advance to the League Championship. Baffin Island won the final game by a score of 5-4 at The Ballpark at Irvine and took the series 4-2. "We won the series and that's the main thing," Ferreira said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted." For the series, Ferreira hit .467 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 2 runs. "He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected Irvine manager Willie Lara. The Baffin Island Beavers will play against the Kenilworth Aces in the next round. Kenilworth won their series against the New Orleans Looters 4 games to 2.
