5-for-7 Day for Rice
|
Bill Rice put on a hitting clinic today as the Florida State Seminoles dumped the Mississippi Rebels 31-4 at Swayze Field.
The Florida State right fielder made Mississippi defenders earn their pay, lashing Mississippi pitching for 5 hits in 7 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Rice said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Bill Rice hit an RBI single in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
So far this year, Rice is batting .429 with 1 home run and 4 RBIs.
