A jubilant Kenny Miller joined the postgame press conference at Maniacs Ballpark today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Madawaska Valley HS Wolves pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Oliver Ames HS Tigers first baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 7-for-7 hitting performance, which led the Tigers to a 28-4 win.

"He made it look easy," said Chris Owens, manager of the Wolves. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Kenny Miller singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off David Pérez in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
