Rockets Raise Rally Flag, Beat New York, 7-4
|
Lonnie Anderson did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the New York Knights from losing, 7-4, to the Nassau Rockets at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark. Anderson was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Nassau starter Sid Allen was credited with the win after throwing 105 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 4-0. Dave Miller notched his 1st save in 1 chances.
Kenji Kudo aided the Nassau cause with a 2-run double in the top of the eighth. For the game, the pinch hitter went 1-1 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Kudo, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Rockets bumped their record to 38-25 with this latest triumph.
