Hitmen Stumble, Lose to G-Strings
|
The Nashville G-Strings bested the Hendersonville Hitmen by a score of 9-3, with shortstop Jorge Flores getting the main credit. On the day, Flores was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs for the G-Strings. Nashville starter Germán Pérez was credited with the win after throwing 90 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 3-6. Arturo Leal converted his 2nd save in 3 tries.
The G-Strings ran into trouble in the top of the third. The score was 1-0, Nashville, with one out. Hendersonville, with runners on 1st and 3rd, had Tony López at the plate. With a base hit, he could have changed the complexion of the game. Instead, he hit into a double play and the G-Strings went on to win.
The second-place G-Strings improved to 37-25.
