Noise Win Thriller, 3-2
|
The home team gave the Branda's Palace fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.
The Nevada Noise turned back the So Cal Bruins, 3-2, at Branda's Palace. Milton Watson was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Nevada reliever Mark Murchison was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Marty Burgess took the loss for So Cal.
The clutch at-bat in the bottom of the ninth belonged to Watson. Facing Marty Burgess with the bases loaded, the Nevada first baseman had a run-scoring walk. Game over, walk-off style!
"Enjoyed this one," Watson told the Nevada Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The loss drops So Cal to 1-1.
