Cruz Blanks Seattle | "Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Rubén Cruz of the Surrey Sinners proved the point at Sick's Stadium today, holding the Seattle Rainiers to 4 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"Cruz made us look real bad today," Rainiers manager Wiley Stagg said in his postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Cruz had 10 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk as the Sinners took the 5-0 win.
This year Cruz has posted a 9-2 mark in 12 starts and has a 2.66 ERA. | |
