Cards Get Road Win, 7-2
|
Portland pitcher Allan Bader did his part in helping his team beat the Austin River Sharks, 7-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Valentín Reséndez nailed down his 2nd save. The Cards, now 4-1, have stormed out of the gates.
The Cards got a big at-bat from catcher Mario Méndez. For the game, Méndez was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Portland a 4-2 lead.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Portland manager Gabriel Ontiveros.
