Vargas Too Tough, Blanks Athens | The Athens Assassins met their match today in Pensacola hurler Pedro Vargas. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 4-hit shutout.
"He just worked us over," Athens skipper Jaime Robles said. "He probably didn't even need a shower after the game -- he barely worked up a sweat."
In the 5-0 victory, Vargas whiffed 6 and gave up 1 walk.
