Bellas Prevail, 2-0, Over Kalamazoo
|
The Pocatello Bellas got a good effort from starter Alejandro Méndez in defeating the Kalamazoo Royale with Cheese at Connie Mack Stadium. The final score was 2-0. Méndez went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-0. The Bellas, now 5-0, have been on a roll in the early going.
Ray Bryant, who is rated as the 85th best prospect by BNN, aided the Pocatello cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder drove in one run.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Domingos Jacobsen. "That was the problem."
