Davidson drives in 4 runs, Stars Move to 38-15
|
With right fielder Derek Davidson leading the charge, the Springfield Stars defeated the El Dorado Oilers, 9-1, at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace. Davidson, who is tied for 3rd in the CL in RBI with 48, was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The save was credited to Todd Brewster, his 3rd. Springfield goes to 38-15. The win puts them 8˝ games up in their division.
Davidson had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the sixth, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Stars went on to win.
Stars manager Tommy Cox had nothing but praise for his players after an impressive win, calling the result one of the team's best performances of the season. "Everything just came together on our end," he said. "I didn't need to do too much."
