Martínez Belts Bunch of Base Hits
Kingston catcher Francisco Martínez had a big day at Paul Owens Stadium today against the Reading Rainbows. The 27-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led the Iguanas to a 11-9 triumph over Reading.

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Martínez said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Francisco Martínez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This year Martínez has hit 3 home runs and posted a .278 batting average.
