| Díaz 5-for-6 Against Silver Souls | Getting 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day, so it was a special occasion for Diablos's Ángel Díaz at Las Olas Riverfront Stadium today. Díaz put up a 5-for-6 line against the Salem Silver Souls, swinging the bat with authority all day despite his club's eventual 7-6 loss.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Díaz said after the game. "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em. I had a great day, but it's disappointing to lose."
Disappointed or not, he still gets his name in the record books. Ángel Díaz hit a solo-shot off Víctor Hernández in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
This season Díaz is swinging the bat at a .300 rate with 48 hits in 160 at-bats. To date he has hit 2 home runs, scored 37 runs and driven in 18. |
