Turner Cracks 5 Hits | Players get multi-hit games all the time, but 5-hit games are something else entirely. Robbie Turner walloped 5 hits in 8 at-bats for the Gainesville Guidos in a career day at Hemmingway Memorial Stadium today, but it was the Key West Barracudas who won the ballgame, 7-6.
"My swing was really, really there today," Turner said afterward. "I made some good, solid contact and when that happens, good things happen. And hey, 5-for-8 and losing is better than 0-for-8 and losing, right?"
Robbie Turner doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, struck out in the 11th, singled in the 13th and doubled in the 16th.
This season in 51 games, Turner has hit at a .303 clip with 64 hits, 1 home run, 16 RBIs and 37 runs scored. | |
