Late Rally by Rebels Secures Win
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Boston Rebels and the San Francisco Bandits, Nathan Walters was the difference-maker. The Boston right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 2-1 win. Walters got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Walters allowed 1 earned run. With the loss, San Francisco drops to 0-5.
Boston took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, center fielder Alfredo López hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," López told the Boston Daily News.
