Tropics Walk Off with Win
|
The New York Knights got a sterling performance from pitcher Leo Huggins, but the Tropics still prevailed, 4-2. Huggins was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. Maui reliever César Rúbio was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Paco Ruíz. The current losing streak for New York has reached 5 games.
José Rivas was the walk-off hero for Maui. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Tropics left fielder hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"This place was rockin'," Rivas said.
