With designated hitter Pedro Guzmán leading the charge, the Austin River Sharks defeated the Houston Marshals, 12-6, at Greendale Community Field. Guzmán slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 2. The River Sharks saw their win-loss record go to 15-18. At the same time, the Marshals fell to 16-19.

Richard Coker, who is a two-time All-Star, aided the Austin cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman drew 1 walk.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Guzmán told the Austin Daily.
