Pikes Stymie San Francisco, Take 4-1 Win
|
Seattle starter Roberto Matoza put a stranglehold on the San Francisco offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Pikes to a 4-1 win. Cristián Escobar got credit for the save for Seattle. It was his 10th of the year. The Bandits, at 6-28, have stumbled out of the gate.
The Pikes got a big at-bat from catcher Wallace Greene. For the game, Greene went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Seattle a 3-1 lead.
"Roberto did a tremendous job," said Seattle manager Kevin Hickey.
