4-2 Win by Bruins Continues Hot Start
|
The So Cal Bruins topped the Nevada Noise by the score of 4-2, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder José Antonio Santiago. Santiago went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles for the Bruins. So Cal reliever Jerry Good picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. José López shouldered the loss. The hot start continues for the defending champion Bruins, who took their 22nd win in 31 games this year.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth when Santiago, who is tied for 5th in the NL with a 1.006 OPS, hit a run-scoring double. It propelled the Bruins into the lead, 1-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Santiago said.
