Victory Over Oilers Takes Nevada to 15-9
|
The Nevada Noise defeated the El Dorado Oilers, 9-4, in National League action at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace, with Nevada second baseman Fernando Gálvez named player of the game. Luis Cortéz closed it out for his 1st save. The Oilers, now 7-17, continue their poor start.
The Noise got a big at-bat from third baseman Rich Ruffin. For the game, Ruffin was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Nevada a 4-3 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Ruffin told the Nevada Observer.
