Getting a good performance from left fielder Jeremy Carr, the Kansas City Kings defeated the San Francisco Bandits, 5-0. Carr was 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Kings. Kansas City reliever Raymond Gregg was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Esteban Peña took the loss. San Francisco, at 2-18, has had a dismal start to the season.

Dave Parker, who is tied for 10th in the CL in home runs with 5, aided the Kansas City cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman went 1-4 with a home run.

In comments to the Kansas City News, Parker insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
