Tropics Come Back Late to Top Stars
|
Maui right-hander Júlio González pitched his team to victory over the Springfield Stars at Kekambas Park. The final score was 4-1. Kent Robinson was credited with the save for Maui, his 4th of the season. Losses have been few and far between for the Stars so far this season. Their record drops to 13-5.
The Tropics got a big at-bat from designated hitter Ernesto López. For the game, López was 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the ninth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Maui a 2-1 lead.
In postgame comments to the Maui Observer, López said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
