| Cards Need Extra Frames to Get Past Looters | The Bayou at Heineken Field was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Portland Cards and the New Orleans Looters.
New Orleans got a terrific performance from pitcher Roy March, but it wasn't enough to beat the Portland Cards. Portland won the The Bayou at Heineken Field contest, 3-2. March was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. The winner was Allan Bader in relief. His record improves to 10-5. Juan Méndez took the loss.
António Zúńiga's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a sinker from Juan Méndez for a run-scoring single. It put Portland in front, 3-2.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," New Orleans manager Ramón Aragón said following the tough loss.
With the victory, the Cards record now stands at 72-79.
