Multi-HR Day for Serna as D-Bags Overpower Bruins, 9-8 | Fans who came to Jersey West at Staples Field watched the Jersey Shore D-Bags and the So Cal Bruins fight to the finish.
The Jersey Shore D-Bags did just enough to sneak past the So Cal Bruins, 9-8, at Jersey West at Staples Field. Jersey Shore third baseman Miguel Serna earned player of the game honors. Jersey Shore reliever Aaron Gibbs was the winner. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was César Menéndez. John Hall got the save, his 11th in 14 chances.
Kel Pierce chipped in for Jersey Shore with a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Pierce said after the game.
The D-Bags bumped their record to 75-73 with this latest triumph.
