Quiñones drives in 4 runs as Gang Green Squeeze Past San Francisco
|
In a tight contest at Bay View Park, the Irvine Gang Green edged the San Francisco Bandits by the score of 7-6. Irvine first baseman Víctor Quiñones, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Irvine, now 2-0, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The Gang Green got a big at-bat from center fielder Tyler Wagner. For the game, Wagner went 2-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Irvine a 7-5 lead.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Wagner.
