Browns Come Back Late to Top Bandits | Behind a solid performance from shortstop Carlos Alfaro, the St. Louis Browns defeated the San Francisco Bandits, 5-3. Alfaro went 2 for 3 with a triple and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Browns. Bernardo Miranda earned the win to go to 11-9. He allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts. Jorge Pérez got the save, his 5th in 10 chances.
Alfaro had a game-changing triple in the top of the eighth. On a 2-2 cutter from Carlos Ledezma, he banged a bases-clearing triple to right-center, giving the Browns a 4-1 lead. It was the 2nd triple of the year for Alfaro.
"We did a lot of things right," said Alfaro.
St. Louis is now riding a 3-game win streak.
