Looters Slip Past Boston, 8-7 | Behind a solid performance from second baseman Jorge Martínez, the New Orleans Looters defeated the Boston Rebels, 8-7. Martínez went 3-5 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Looters. The win was Eric Terry's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Beau Murphy took the loss for Boston. New Orleans goes to 93-53. The win puts them 10 games up in their division.
The Looters got a big at-bat from center fielder Greg Handrahan. For the game, Handrahan was 1 for 2. In the top of the 14th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 61st hit of the season gave New Orleans a 8-7 lead.
