| Noise Drop Athletics with Late Score | Nevada center fielder Luis Cruz made his presence felt in the 6-5 Noise triumph over the Philadelphia Athletics. Cruz went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Nevada reliever Elton Johnston picked up the win to move to 6-1. Luke Brown suffered the loss. Mark Murchison converted his 30th save in 32 tries.
Bill Mark was 1-3 with a double for Nevada. The 31-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ricardo Pérez. It was his 35th RBI of the season.
"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Mark. "I think we showed that here."
The Noise bumped their record to 74-68 with this latest triumph.
