| Pikes Lose to River Sharks, 7-3 | Austin River Sharks starter Carlos Hernández was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Seattle Pikes, 7-3. Paco Gutiérrez notched his 27th save in 32 chances. Austin is now 51-89, while Seattle is 48-93.
Austin used the clutch hitting of Enrico Vargas to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to give the River Sharks the lead, 3-0. For the game, Vargas had 1 single and 2 doubles in 5 at-bats.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Hernández told the Austin Daily.
