| Royale with Cheese Come Back Late, Nip River Sharks | The Kalamazoo Royale with Cheese beat the Austin River Sharks, 8-7, at Hawthrone Grill. Kalamazoo right fielder Tom Blake earned player of the game honors. He collected 3 singles and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. Kalamazoo reliever Roberto Ledesma picked up the win, bumping his record to 5-3. Paco Gutiérrez was collared with the loss. The Royale with Cheese bumped their record to 78-59 with this latest triumph.
Blake had a game-changing single in the bottom of the ninth. On a 1-1 changeup from Paco Gutiérrez, he banged a run-scoring single to left, giving the Royale with Cheese a 8-7 lead. It was the 4th hit of the year for Blake.
"This place was rocking at the end," Blake said.
