| Sheens Clip Bandits in Tight Contest | The San Francisco Bandits got a sterling performance from pitcher Carlos Ledezma, but the Sheens still prevailed, 6-4. Ledezma was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball. Juan Rivera, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. António Ojeda converted his 25th save in 30 tries.
Had Dan Tyler not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Tyler hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Sheens.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Tyler. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
