| Romero Goes Off, But Oilers Win | Despite a fine performance by third baseman Juan Romero, the Nassau Rockets suffered a 5-3 loss to the El Dorado Oilers. Romero hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Kuang-yin Yue got the save, his 23rd in 28 chances. With the win, El Dorado goes to 53-82, while the Rockets fall to 77-58.
In the bottom of the 6th, shortstop Sixto Vélez gave El Dorado the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Oilers had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Nassau pitcher Joaquín Gonzáles changed that -- and El Dorado went on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said El Dorado manager Chris Wilson.
