| Bryant Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Austin in Walk-Off Win | Mike Pearson had a good game, but he could not keep the Springfield Stars from falling, 4-3, to the Austin River Sharks at Greendale Community Field. The Springfield second baseman went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once in the loss. The last-place River Sharks raised their record to 48-85.
The River Sharks got a big at-bat from center fielder Todd Bryant. For the game, Bryant was 1-1. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 25th hit of the season gave Austin a 4-3 lead.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Springfield manager Tommy Cox.
