| Victory Pushes Cards Record to 66-65 | A 3-RBI performance from Paul Mullins, who is a two-time All-Star, helped the Portland Cards beat the Nashville G-Strings, 14-4. The Cards bumped their record to 66-65 with this latest triumph.
The Cards got a big at-bat from second baseman Norm Francis. For the game, Francis went 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 10th hit of the season gave Portland a 5-3 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Francis, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
