| D-Bags Fall Short, 3-2, at Vista | The Jersey Shore D-Bags got a superb performance from pitcher Martín Ramírez, but the Vista Panthers still won the game, 3-2. Ramírez was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. Dave Riley, credited with the win, is now 5-1. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. David Simpson converted his 32nd save in 37 tries.
Had Francisco Medina not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Medina hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Panthers.
"Both teams played hard," said Vista manager Tim Fulgham.
Vista has now reeled off 8 straight wins.
