| Rockets Win 6-5 Walk-Off | The Nassau Rockets knocked off the Maui Tropics, 6-5, at Nassau Grounds. Don Ramey, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Nassau won. The designated hitter went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. The winner was Bill Sampson in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Kent Robinson took the loss. The Rockets bumped their record to 73-55 with this latest triumph.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Nassau right fielder Edgardo Osorio, facing Kent Robinson, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Rockets the 6-5 win.
"This wasn't a good win," said Ramey. "It was a great win."
