Martin allowed 1 earned run on 7 hits over 6 innings. Robinson Gonzáles notched his 36th save in 37 chances. Kenilworth improves to 86-39 with the win. They lead their division by 14 games.
Had Jim Jensen not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Jensen hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Aces.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Jensen told the Kenilworth Herald.
