Knights Lose to Athletics, 9-2 | The rain at Edmund Fitzgerald Field did not keep Philadelphia and New York from finishing their game.
The Philadelphia Athletics topped the New York Knights by the score of 9-2, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Yasuhiko Onodera. Onodera was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Athletics. Mario Tobías was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 3 save opportunities.
Lonnie Anderson tried to get his team back in the game. With New York trailing 6-0 in the top of the 3rd, Anderson hit a 2-run double. But the Knights held on to get the win. "Anderson had a good at-bat," said manager Derek Booker. "We could have used a few more like it."
The Athletics' win now puts them at 44-80.
